Rosewood is a beautifully restored Bed & Breakfast close to the centre of Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand. With 5 spacious, individually furnished rooms (3 with ensuite bathrooms), private lounge/dining room, and quiet gardens Rosewood is ideally situated for holiday makers, small groups of friends and business people. Rosewood is only 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of Greymouth with its cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries.

The House
Rosewood was built around the early 1920's as a Gentleman's residence. Native timbers were used extensively throughout this grand old character home, wood panelling in the entrance hallway and lead light windows.

Today Rosewood has retained these features combining modern luxuries such as ensuite bathrooms in 3 rooms (one with facilities for the disabled) and a huge guest share bathroom for the remaining 2 rooms, tasteful furnishings with top quality King and Queen sized beds (cotton linen, your choice of pillows, cosy duvets and extra woollen blankets). There is Off-street parking to the rear and Wheelchair access.

Rosewood offers a relaxed atmosphere and you are invited to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with a home-made biscuit while you unwind from your travels and activities of the day sitting in the bay window, at our rimu table or on the couch in the Guest lounge with a newspaper or a book or magazine from the bookcase.

Breakfast is a choice of cereals, fresh orange juice, yoghurt, fresh and preserved fruit, toast or Rhonda's fresh bread rolls or coissants served with a choice of preserves and honey's plus a great selection of teas or coffee. We also offer cooked breakfasts beautifully presented by Stephan with free range eggs (cooked how you like them) with bacon and tomato to give you a great start to the day.

Your Hosts
Rhonda is a Christchurch born Kiwi who spent 18 years doing her O.E. After working in a number of top hotels throughout the UK, she moved to Germany in 1988 to learn German and further her experience in European Hotels. There she met Stephan, a qualified Chef who was working for Lufthansa preparing hot meals for Business and First Class Passengers on many of the worlds top Airlines.

In 1990 we got married and came to New Zealand on our Honeymoon where Stephan's love for New Zealand was intensified. Rhonda, however, moved from Hotels to the corporate world of Investment Banking and it took a further 10 years for Stephan to convince her that she should return home. So in August 2001 with our possessions packed in a container, we headed for New Zealand with our 2 children, Alexander and Veronika, and the dream of owning our own Bed & Breakfast.

We are very proud to be the owners of Rosewood in such a fantastic part of New Zealand. After living in the middle of Germany where its 6 hours to either the sea or the mountains, we really appreciate being here on the West Coast with its dense bush, the mountains, the ocean and the wonderful sunsets on our doorstep.
Not to mention the many attractions like the Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki, the Glaciers, the nature, wildlife and activities all so near. We enjoy sharing this with our guests, providing quality accommodation with friendly, personlised service while ensuring you "feel at home" and have a memorable time here at Rosewood, in Greymouth and on the West Coast.
